Air India Baggage Allowance




The Air travel baggage allowance is the amount of luggage to be carried on during the travel, which are checked and will be allowed as per the passenger basis. On some of the airlines, these allowances are free of charge. In other cases, this is of the firms limit, and carrying on additional weight with add on extra payment option. The general allowance as per passenger depends upon the policies of the particular airline.

Each passenger is allowed to carry on one bag for the personal item such as a briefcase, handbag or laptop bag. The assistive devices and outer garments do not count as personal items. All the carry-on luggage must fit in the overhead of bin or under its seat. One must be able to lift the carry-on into the overhead storage without the assistance.

Passenger who are travelling on Air India domestic sector are connecting to Air India International sector or vice versa, with the Free Baggage Allowance and an International sector will be applicable. Passengers who are dependent on wheelchair travelling or fully on wheelchair are held in the aircraft or dependent on the braces or with crutches that would be entitled to an additional baggage allowances, free of charge.

Passenger travelling on Alliance Air to Air India would be allowed for a free baggage allowance which is of 25Kgs per passenger per flight.
